1. Bibury

This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Cotswolds villages. It is a place where nature is the perfect complement to the old houses that line the road.

The most famous street in the region, Arlingon Road, is located in this town. It represents like no other the image of the Cotswolds, with its stone houses of facades full of vines and slate roofs.

2. Castle Combe

It is another of the Cotswolds towns famous for its unique charm. In fact, Castle Combe was selected by Times magazine as one of the top 30 towns in the world. Its beauty has made it the scene of numerous films.

Castle Combe is one of the essential places that you must know if you travel to the Costwolds. You will fall in love with its beautiful medieval church, its honey-colored stone houses and its peaceful atmosphere. A village of just 300 inhabitants as small as it is unique.

3. Lacock

This beautiful town is just 15 minutes from Castle Combe. Almost as beautiful as it, its old cobbled streets and beautiful houses are ideal elements of an extraordinary and unforgettable walk to get to know this magnificent town and, incidentally, taste its traditional cuisine.

Get lost in the streets of Lacock, they sure sound familiar! Yes, because it is also a very “cinematic” town, in fact, scenes from the Harry Potter saga were filmed in its abbey. He also appears in period films such as Pride and Prejudice or Enma.

4. Chipping Campden

This is, without a doubt, one of the most special villages in the region. If you are looking for the essence of the Cotswolds, you must visit this small town  where you will find, among many other things, the most traditional houses in this area.

Its beautiful houses with thatched roofs are perfectly preserved. So much so, that you will feel like a time traveler who managed to go back hundreds of years, incredible, right?

5. Upper Slaughter

It’s about half an hour from Chipping Campden. Among its old constructions, its beautiful Norman church of St. Peters stands out, of an authentic story, like its streets, which you can walk in just one hour. This town is also known for the bravery of its soldiers during the two world wars.

6. Broadway

Broadway may not have the beauty and charm of other towns in the region. However, it is on this list because it is regarded as the gateway to The Cotswolds. Like other towns in the region, their houses are made of honey-colored stone, and many have been transformed into small shops and very good cafes.

But if there is something that stands out, it is the Broadway tower, an architectural whim built at the end of the 18th century. A kind of fortress with three towers and hexagonal silver built on a high hill.

7. Burford

We finish our tour of the most amazing Cotswolds villages in Burford. Its main street, Higgh Street, stands out, where you can find a wide variety of traditional shops and pubs that you cannot miss. At the top of the street you will find some of the most beautiful houses, with their spectacular old architecture.
