1. Castle and walls of Cullera

The castle is the most emblematic monument in the city, in fact, it has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. This fortress dates from the 10th century and its architecture makes it a mandatory stop on this trip to Cullera.

In addition, the path to reach the top of the mountain of the Foxes, where the fortress is located, is beautiful. We can do this journey on foot or in a small tourist train. Once at the top we will find the monastery of Our Lady of the Incarnation.

2. Castle Sanctuary

This sanctuary is next to the castle. 3. Dragut’s Crow

Inside this cave we will feel like real pirates, since it is a museum of the pirate Dragut. It has its explanation, since this city suffered various pirate attacks in the 16th century. The cave is named after the Turkish pirate who stormed the city in 1550.

Here you can see the reproduction of a brig, old navigation instruments, maps, etc. Thanks to this, it is possible to understand what piracy was like in the Mediterranean Sea during the 16th century. The Dragut pirate cave is located in the district of the lighthouse and is accessible on foot and by tourist train.

4. Gastronomy in Cullera

In Cullera we can taste an excellent Valencian paella, there are numerous specialized restaurants, although wherever you go you can try incredible delicacies. In addition, along the promenade in front of the beach you will find many places where you can eat at a reasonable price.

5. The Cullera lighthouse

The Cullera lighthouse is one of the two that remain in Valencia. The first time it was lit was in 1858 and its style is really special. It retains its original architecture, although it has been renovated many times in the 1970s.
