The white island of the Pitiusas is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. It is a Mediterranean island famous for being the destination of choice for celebrities and party lovers. But this small and charming island has much more to offer, and here we tell you which are the corners of Ibiza that you cannot miss if you visit it.

Dream beaches and coves in Ibiza

The irregular morphology of this small Balearic island has led to some of the most beautiful beaches and coves in the world. Thus, the mountains with their green pines reach out to the sea. When this does not happen, impressive cliffs hug its small coves.

Cala d'en Serra

One of the most spectacular is Sa Figuera Borda. It is a whim of nature in which we find a huge rock drilled in the center of which the fishermen kept their boats and implements. To get there you have to go down some narrow stairs built by man.

We must also mention Atlantiso Sa Pedrera de Cala d’Hort, the quarry from which the stone for the wall of Dalt Vila was extracted, as the oldest part of the city of Ibiza is known. In this quarry, now abandoned, you can sunbathe while the sea caresses our feet. A most magical place.

Meanwhile, on the beach of Racó de ses Dones we can bathe in warm, turquoise blue waters. Its name is due to the fact that it was the beach destined for women until the middle of the 20th century. And to get there, you have to go through a hole that was drilled in the monolith of Es Paller d’en Camp.

Of Phoenician origin, it is the largest and best preserved necropolis in the world. And it was in operation from the 7th century BC until the Middle Ages. It is believed that there are more than 3,000 burials, although not all have been brought to light.

And the interesting thing about this necropolis is that during your visit we will be able to see different forms of burials that are associated with different cultures and times. Windmills were built on this great cemetery in the 15th century, hence its name. Rafael Alberti stayed in one of them with his wife at the beginning of the Spanish civil war.

It is an ancient sanctuary dedicated to the goddess Tanit, the goddess of fertility. It is located very close to the San Vicente cove, about 150 meters high and within the Can Quintals estate. It is a magical space in which offerings are still made to this goddess so important to Carthaginian mythology.

The Colom House in Ibiza

It is a museum located in the city of Ibiza in which the thesis that Christopher Columbus was from there is explained. And this, because the Colom family stayed in this house. On its route you can see maps with the place names related to the island that were used to name some of the locations that the Spanish were conquering in the New World.

Very close to the famous town of Santa Eulalia del Río is the small urban center of Puig de Missa. It is made up of a small number of white-painted houses that gleam among the green Mediterranean pines in the area. At the highest point is an impressive fortified church from the 16th century.

It is one of the most spectacular visits that can be made on the island of Ibiza. It is located inside the cliff that forms in the port of San Miguel, to the north of the island. Its main use, before tourism, was as a hiding place for smugglers in the area. His footprints can still be seen in the cave.

The interior is impressive, but even more so are the beautiful views from the viewpoint at its entrance, since this cave is 14 meters above sea level. To get there, you have to go up a picturesque path that goes around the cliffs in the area.
