9 things to see in Dallas, United States

It is the third most populous city in the State of Texas (after Houston and San Antonio) and has one of the most important airports in the United States. With a northern part more developed than the southern part, it is still one of the most visited metropolises in the country. In this article we want to tell you about the main attractions to see in Dallas, and there are many. Do not miss it!

1. Reunion Tower

It is the emblem of the city and has been part of the landscape since 1978. You can climb to the top and enjoy an incredible panoramic view of downtown Dallas. A 360º panorama that you will love.

Due to its particular shape, in the city it is known as “The ball” (the ball) and in it you can also enjoy two of the best restaurants in the city.

2. Cultural District, a must see in Dallas

We recommend a few hours of art in Dallas in this district of almost 20 streets that is home to museums, galleries, concert halls, theaters and also gardens and parks.

The highlight is the Center for the Performing Arts, a four-story complex dedicated to dance, theater, music and opera. You can also go to the Nasher Sculpture Museum, located in a nice park.

3. Sixth Floor Museum

In case you didn’t know, President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, during his official tour of the state of Texas in 1963. It happened in Dealey Square, and a few blocks from where the tragedy happened, a commemorative plaza was erected with a monument in his memory.

But without a doubt, the most visited site by tourists who want to know about this event that shocked the world is this museum. It is assumed that it was from this place that Lee Harvey Oswald shot Kennedy. Inside we can find an exhibition about the assassination of the president and also about his life and legacy.

4. Plaza of the Americas

It is a luxurious and prestigious shopping center, ideal for those who want to take advantage of their stay to shop or browse in search of something special.

The prices are quite affordable and, in addition, we can find wooded areas to rest, food stalls, nursery, etc. It is located near the Pearl Train Station and is frequented by office workers at lunchtime.

5. Katy Trail

If outdoor activities and a little morning exercise are your thing, a good idea is to go to these 5 km of trails, which start at Abbott Avenue when it intersects with Knox Street. Another option is Klyde Warren Park, which was built on a highway and has completely changed the image of the city.

6. Chinatown

Chinatown is another of the places to see in Dallas. It is located north of the city and is an area with Asian establishments, as there are in other parts of the world. In addition to Chinese objects and food, they can be obtained from Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. It has a cultural center where celebrations, art exhibitions, music and dance shows take place.

It is 5 miles from the city center and is a little oasis,  chosen by the locals for the weekends. It has pavilions to rent canoes and boats and a route for cycling and hiking.

8. Six Flags Over Texas

The park “Six Flags over Texas” refers to all those that have flown in the State : Spain, France, Mexico, Republic of Texas, Confederate States of America and the United States of America.

It is an amusement park with high-speed roller coasters, fast-climbing towers, family and children’s games, etc. It is located in Arlington, between Dallas and Fort Worth.

9. AT&T Stadium

Even if you don’t like or understand football, this impressive stadium is one of the places to see in Dallas, without any doubt. It is the home of the Dallas Cowboys and opened in 2009.

It has a capacity for 94,000 spectators, a pair of 91-meter-high arches and a retractable roof that can be opened or closed in 9 minutes. It also has spectacular giant high definition screens (the largest in a sports venue). It can be covered on a guided tour.
